Introduction

I am a student at Duke University pursuing a double major in English and Economics alongside a minor in Education. I offer private tutoring in reading, writing, English, economics, mathematics, study skills, standardized test preparation, and college application essays.

My students range from elementary school through college, and I meet them where they are. I’m available in person around Far Hills and virtually wherever a stable internet connection reaches.

Teaching background

My tutoring is shaped by formal and informal teaching experience, including my work with Schoolhouse.world, my study of education at Duke, and years of hands-on work with students. I have served as a Senior Tutor and Advanced Peer Reviewer, reviewing student work and supporting other tutors in giving clear, useful feedback. Since my senior year of high school, I have also completed a volunteer practicum every summer at Far Hills Country Day School, the independent middle school I attended years ago. Throughout high school and into college, I have tutored independently, working one-on-one with students to build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and develop more effective approaches to learning.

How sessions work

A first session usually begins with the assignment, class expectations, or test section the student is working on. From there, I identify the specific skill that needs attention and build the session around practice, revision, and explanation. For writing, that may mean outlining an essay, revising a paragraph, or sharpening a thesis. For math or test preparation, that usually means working through problems carefully enough that the student can explain the method back.

Rates

Charged by the hour; a 90-minute session bills as 1.5 hours. Package discounts are per hour: five hours lowers the hourly rate by $5, ten hours by $10, and twenty hours by $15, producing the listed total savings.
